EUROSAFE Approach
EUROSAFE Approach
"EUROSAFE" is a global and European initiative aimed at promoting the convergence of technical nuclear safety practices in Europe. The initiative finds its expression in three communication media that pool the ideas of various European safety organisations. It is managed by a Programme Committee composed of seven European nuclear and radiation protection organisations - Bel V (Belgium), CSN (Spain), GRS (Germany), HSE (United Kingdom), IRSN (France), SSM (Sweden), ÚJV (Czech Republic), VTT (Finland). It is intended to become the approach of all main European nuclear safety and radiation protection organisations.
The EUROSAFE Forum was first hosted by IPSN (now IRSN) and GRS in 1999, in conjunction with the above mentioned safety organisations.Every year in November, this event brings together representatives of organisations specialised in nuclear and radiological safety techniques, research institutes, power utilities, industry, public authorities and non-governmental organisations.
The EUROSAFE Tribune, apart from being distributed to all those attending the Forum, also provides all concerned organisations with articles about key issues in the world of nuclear safety and radiological protection, and thus serves as a platform for exchanging opinions and conducting debates.
The EUROSAFE website provides a record of contributions made to the Forum and the Tribune, keeping visitors up to date with matters of interest and work carried out in the field of radiological protection and nuclear safety. Among other things, visitors can consult contributions to previous Forum events and all issues of the EUROSAFE Tribune, and ask questions concerning the organisation of the Forum.
